Hey everyone, welcome back to the show! Today, we’re looking at two entirely different kinds of dark, twisting tales, and trust me, you're going to want to lock your doors for both of them.
First up, we head to a quiet, snowy Canadian town in the winter of 1976. Meet Nathalie, a twenty-six-year-old hairdresser just trying to enjoy her cozy apartment life, spaghetti dinners, and a quiet evening in. But someone—or something—is sharing her space. From moved photographs and a television turning on by itself, to the terrifying discovery that a dark, infamous serial killer has been watching her from a hidden basement passage all along, it’s a chilling reminder of how vulnerable we are right where we feel safest.
Then, we pivot to the sun-bleached, historical limestone alleys of Valletta, Malta, for a sinister tale of obsession and revenge. We follow a narrator pushed to the absolute brink by a man named Fortunato. Under the chaotic, masked cover of the local Carnival celebrations, our narrator lures an intoxicated Fortunato down through the shadowy, saltpetre-encrusted catheps and subterranean vaults. What starts as a hunt for a rare cask of Amontillado wine quickly descends into a claustrophobic nightmare of brick, mortar, and inescapable doom, sealed away for half a century.
Two stories of obsession, betrayal, and chilling demises—so grab your headphones, get comfortable, and let's dive right in!
